Grace Klein, Birth & Postpartum Doula
Hi, I'm Grace. My pronouns are she & her. I live and work in the Bay Area, and I would love to be your birth & postpartum doula.
I began my career in 2012 as an abortion counselor & doula. I've held a variety of roles in the movement for reproductive freedom since then, and in 2019, I trained with Doula Trainings International to become a birth & postpartum doula.
I do this work because I believe we all deserve to move through pregnancy, birth, and parenthood with dignity and compassion. No one should feel isolated, uninformed, or surrounded by strangers telling them how they *should* feel. I don't make assumptions, and I don't show up with judgements. My work is grounded in curiosity & listening; the rest grows from there.
My philosophy is this: You deserve to be supported completely. I believe in you. And together, we’ve totally got this.
“If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it.”

The birth you want is the birth I support.
My standard birth package includes two prenatal visits, unlimited text & email support, a 24/7 on-call period from 38-42 weeks, continuous labor support, and a postpartum follow-up visit.
Birth support is fluid and includes instructional coaching, physical comfort measures, and emotional stewardship. Every birth is different, and how I support yours is entirely unique to you.
Nurturing the whole family.
I offer both daytime & nighttime postpartum care. Day shifts are 4 hours and typically include more newborn instruction, breastfeeding support, and household help. Overnight shifts are 8 hours and focus primarily on newborn care so that you can catch up on sleep.
Shifts are reserved in advance and scheduled once baby is born. You may build your postpartum package with any number of shifts. Packages become more economical as they grow.
*Please contact me to discuss pricing. While I ask those who can afford it to pay my full fees, I offer a sliding scale to support families on a more limited budget.
